What is Reap What You Sew?
“Reap What You Sew,” is under the umbrella of Love Everlasting
Ministries (LEM). RWYS is a
dedicated training program to teach widows
and under-privileged women the sewing
trade with educators, tools, materials and
supplies necessary to become successful
businesswomen in their own right!
Students attend a six-month program focused on
tailoring. They receive a sewing machine and supplies, as
well as accounting and bookkeeping training by the end
of the program. Classes are held five days a week from
9 a.m. to 12 p.m., at Agape Life International Church in
Blantyre, Malawi where Pastor Augustine Mgala and his
wife, Priscilla, lead their congregation.
Students receive special one-on-one time with a seamstress
and have practice time in the afternoons. Participants
are required to pay 1000 kwacha (equivalent to $1.30
per month) so they are personally invested. They must
maintain an 85% attendance record to stay in program
and sign a statement of faith agreement.
